Köln!

SO! Köln!

On our incredibly exciting trip to Köln, we woke up at 8 AM to get on our ICE train. Although wary of protestors, we made it to Köln in a little under 4 hours, and were raring and ready to go. After checking into our hostel (although we should have said hotel, because for 25€, we basically felt like we robbed the guy), called "Kölner Pension".
It was in the more Turkish area of town, which was fine. A note to those wanting to stay there in the future, be aware that at night this area is a bit 'intimidating' at night. After checking in, we walked to the Schokolade Museum, and watched how chocolate was made, its history, and its discovery.

After that, we went home, watched 'Das Super Talent' and went to bed early. The next morning, we went to the Kölner Dom, a huge beautiful cathedral in the center of town. After watching a service and taking many many photos, I went to the Roman museum nearby and saw some of the interesting things it had to offer. While the things offered were interesting, the it was poorly organized.

Following this, we went to a small carnival on the other side of the Rhein river. We rode several rides, drank glühwein, and had cotton candy and reibekuchen! It was so much fun. Before we left, we hopped on the ferris wheel and got a full view of the Rhein at night.

After, we got on our train, we took a quick stop for postcards and such. On our ride home, we almost made it to Hannover, but an accident on the tracks delayed us for two hours. After rolling into Hannover at 1:43, we had already missed our connection, and DB payed for a taxi from Hannover to Lüneburg.
