Castor, one of the biggest topics in Germany at the moment

As you may or may not know, one of the biggest protests against Castor (a nuclear power source that packs a radioactive wallop similar to the devastation of Chernobyl) transport in Gorleben. As a USAC student, I am prohibited from actively taking part in any demonstrations abroad, as it poses a significant safety risk. However, Mowly, one of the Erasmus students at Leuphana was able to go and photograph some of what happened at the Atomskraft (nuclear power) protest!

One of the biggest arguements against nuclear power in the form of 'Castor', is that it has a high chance of introducing cancerous materials into the natural resources of the area. One reason given for this belief is the radioactivity of the mushroom in the area where the Chernobyl accident occurred, which to this day are still unsafe to eat.
Here you can see the streets filled with protesters. This major protest was held in  (I believe) the Lüneburg Heide. More protests where held in Dannenburg, Köln, and other regions of Germany. While this protest pictured did not involved protesters sleeping on the train tracks, in other areas many students and adults chose to demonstrate the transport of Castor by sleeping on the train tracks.

Here you can see the various forms of protest! The massive nuclear toilet is a representation of Castor, and it should not be too hard to guess the opinion stated by erecting a faux Angela Merckel (Germany's current Chancellor) atop it. Also there was a group 'Gegen Nazis' or "against Nazis", as well as Green Peace, which strives to replace nuclear energy with enviromentally friendly alternative sources such as Solar, Wind, and Water energy.
"With enviro-energy instead of nuclear" roughly translated by the way

The concert also held to support and keep the protesters rallied. As with all of Mowly's generously donated photographs, click to embiggen.
